The Dormer House

The Dormer House is a center hall colonial revival that was built in 1899 for wealthy marble dealer John Jacoby of Philadelphia. Mr. Jacoby, the founder and first Commodore of the Cape May Yacht Club, built the cottage as a summer home for his family. Designed for "gracious living and entertaining" this Cape May Bed & Breakfast offers 12 private rooms and suites and an attached cottage.

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, The Dormer House is the perfect place to enjoy the quiet charm of Cape May. The common areas feature a magnificent marble fireplace, sparkling stained glass panes and antique furnishings. Breakfast is served at tables for two on the enclosed sun porch. On our wide, open veranda you will find rocking chairs and a porch swing. Take a step back in time and savor a warm cup of tea or a cool glass of lemonade while you breathe in the salt air and watch the horse drawn carriages pass by.

Each guest room is uniquely appointed with period furnishings, eclectic touches, and the modern comforts of mini fridges, air conditioning, wireless internet and flat screen TVs. Additional amenities include beach chairs, beach towels, free on-site parking, and complimentary sweet treats served in the afternoon.

For safety reasons smoking is not permitted on the property.
